When the spring thaw turns New England rivers into a torrent the Millers River in western Massachusetts comes into its own. With big-water class III and IV rapids that peak at the Funnel, the large diagonal waves and holes require total concentration and all-out padding from all aboard the rafts. The Millers is ideal for those seeking the thrill of high-volume rafting.
You'll stop for a lunch of homemade breads, hot soups, and a delicious dessert just above the town of Millers Falls. After lunch you'll continue through more exciting rapids, ending where the Millers join the Connecticut River in the French King Gorge. A bus ride brings us back to Zoar Outdoor where you'll watch a slide show of your runs through the Funnel and relive the big water.
