Main Salmon River

This premier whitewater river, often called the "River of No Return," is a perfect combination of beautiful scenery and thrilling whitewater. Its fun rapids, of varying levels of difficulty, never fail to impress those who choose to brave the waves. Whether in one of World Wide's larger rafts, or a smaller paddle raft or inflatable kayak, the rapids are sure to leave you wet and grinning from ear to ear. It's an adventure fit for the whole family.

A large portion of this 80-mile section of river lies within one of the largest designated wilderness areas in the country. This corridor of crystal clear water is home to a myriad of wildlife. It is not uncommon to see moose, bighorn sheep, river otters, black bears, and eagles along the way. The clean water, big sandy beaches, and towering pine trees are the epitome of pristine wilderness.

History is rich and abundant along the river. You will stop to explore hot springs, gold mines, abandoned homesteads, and hidden hermitages. Your guides will tell you stories about those who dared to ride the rapids in wooden scows and about those who dared and still dare to make the Salmon River canyon their home.
