4½-Day Lower Motor - Phantom Ranch to Bar 10 Ranch
On the 4½-day Lower Motor expedition, your journey will take you 100 miles from Phantom Ranch (deep within the Grand Canyon) to Whitmore Wash. Your only schedule is to arrive at the take-out destination the morning of the last day - so relax and enjoy the grandeur of the lower canyon, with its high sheer walls and spectacular whitewater of major rapids, and smooth relaxing calm water.

Lunch on the Colorado River
Build your own sandwiches, with chips, cookies, fruit, and soft drinks. Relax, read a book, or perhaps hike or swim before shoving off again for an afternoon of thrills and surprises.
Late afternoon finds you at camp for the evening. As your crew sets up the kitchen, everyone finds his or her ideal camp spot. Later you relax with a cool drink and hors d' oeuvres. Get better acquainted with your fellow river passengers as dinner sizzles on the grill or camp stove. After dinner, watch the setting sun and listen to the quiet of the canyon as you settle into your sleeping bag. Tomorrow brings another typical day on the Colorado.

A group rate of $1850 is offered for four or more passengers. A child rate is offered for this trip for children 16 years of age at the time of the trip or under. $1635 per child. Price includes charter flight from Bar 10 Ranch to Las Vegas, NV or Page, AZ. We offer a special rate for our April trips. "Be a Kid Again" Everyone pays the child rate of $1635 in April!

Notes
The Day Before Please plan to arrive at the Grand Canyon, South Rim the day prior to your trip date. You will require motel accommodations. These reservations should be made well in advance of your trip. If you plan to arrive at the South Rim via charter airlines, taxi service is available from the Grand Canyon Airport to Grand Canyon Village.
The Departure Day The morning your trip is scheduled to depart Phantom Ranch, all river passengers will meet in front of the Bright Angel Lodge (Grand Canyon, South Rim) at 5:00am. Qualified hiking guides will meet everyone and guide the hike down the Bright Angel Trail to the boats at the river. It is a ten-mile hike. Wilderness River Adventures does not recommend this hike unless you are in excellent physical condition and have done a lot of hiking. Complete hiking instructions will be sent with your trip instructions. Lunch will be served prior to departing Phantom Ranch. Very soon after leaving Phantom Ranch you will be in whitewater of major proportions.
Enjoy the spectacular whitewater of the Grand Canyon’s major rapids, such as Horn Creek, Granite Falls, Hermit, Crystal, Upset and "The Famous" Lava Falls - you will see and enjoy dozens of additional sights, as well as stretches of calm water where you will relax in the warm sun and enjoy breathtaking scenery. Photographic opportunities abound in the lower Canyon.
The Last Day Your expedition ends at Whitmore Wash, at approximately 9:00am. You and your gear will be transported from Whitmore Wash via a short helicopter ride to the Bar Ten Ranch on the Canyon rim. Showers are provided and you will be served lunch before returning to "civilization" via a previously arranged charter flight. Your charter flight is included in your trip cost.
Reservation Policy
A deposit of $300 is required to confirm your reservation.
Cancellation Policy
Wilderness River Adventures will hold your seats for up to two weeks without a deposit. From time of deposit to 60 days prior to departure a $50 cancellation fee will be retained from your deposit. From 59 to 30 days prior to departure the entire deposit of $300 will be retained. Less than 29 days prior to departure, NO REFUNDS will be issued.
