OverviewWilderness Aware Rafting operates on five different rivers in Colorado including the Arkansas, Dolores, Gunnison, North Platte, and the Upper Colorado Rivers. Trips range in duration from a half day up to ten days. They offer a variety of rafting opportunities including wildwater, family whitewater, guided float fishing, and inflatable kayaks. Their trips represent a full range of difficulties, but most do not require any previous experience.
Wilderness Aware Rafting provides Coast Guard approved lifejackets, waterproof storage and transportation in reliable vehicles from the meeting place for each trip to the river and back. They have wetsuits, splash jackets, wetshoes, sleeping bags, pads and tents available to rent. A delicious smorgasbord lunch is provided on one-day trips. Multi-day trips include fresh, hearty meals from lunch on the first day through lunch on the last day. They can accommodate vegetarians upon request.
Wilderness Aware Rafting just completed construction of a 5,000 square foot state of the art rafting facility located right on the banks of the Arkansas just south of Buena Vista. This facility was purposely built to provide guests with the latest in customer service, convenience, and comfort. They encourage you to stop by and visit them at their new location. |
