Since Whitewater Connection recognizes that their expert whitewater river rafting guides and dedicated support staff are their most valuable assets, they hire the finest whitewater rafting personnel available both locally and from around the world. This widens their breadth of river rafting skills and makes for a very colorful company atmosphere! And just as a large number of river rafting guests return year after year, a majority of the staff return as well. Who can go?
Whitewater Connection has a rafting experience for everyone. From beginning class II to “on the edge” class V rafting experience.

Equipment
All rafting and safety equipment is state of the art top quality whitewater rafting gear, and no more than two years old at the beginning of each season. Whitewater rafting boats and life jackets are custom designed specifically for the California whitewater rafting rivers Whitewater Connection runs. Whitewater Connection was the first major river company to convert entirely to self-bailing rafts. These rafts are the finest made in the world. Life jackets are specially designed for whitewater use and are approved by the U.S. Coast Guard. For extra attention to safety, every trip carries a full safety and emergency kit.

Safety
Whitewater Connection has had an impeccable safety record. In addition to emergency kits, all guides are certified in first aid and CPR. A majority of the staff is certified in Swift Water Rescue.

Cuisine
Whitewater Connection pulls out all the stops when it comes to meals, great food and plenty of it! For example, dinner begins with a first course of shrimp cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, followed by a main course of steak, lobster and chicken, complete with wines from the fine local foothill wineries.

What to Bring
The centerpiece of the operation is a 40-acre private whitewater rafting base camp on the banks of the South Fork of the American River. The camp features hot showers and flush toilets, and an extensive irrigation system that keeps the camp green and lush throughout the hot summer months. Whitewater Connection even has motion sensors in the restrooms and showers that automatically turn the lights on as you approach for those sometimes unavoidable middle-of-the-night visits. No special equipment is needed. After receiving your deposit, Whitewater Connection will provide you with a complete list of items recommended for an outdoor experience. They also have a brand new camp store on the south Fork of the American River for any forgotten essentials, cold beverages, ice cream, and of course the souvenirs you'll want to take home to boast about your experience.

When to Sign Up
Whitewater Connection starts trips on April 1 for those who are looking for a little extra action and excitement with the spring runoff. When the spring runoff subsides, and summer fully arrives, water flows remains fairly consistent and temperatures rise to the 90s until mid September. The last trips are usually the first week of October.

Reservation Policy When you contact a Whitewater Connection representative to set up your desired adventure vacation, you have 14 days in order to return your trip invoice signed with the required deposit. When deposit is received, your trip will be considered reserved for you and any other participants in your group. Cancellation Policy Cancellations must be made in writing and must be received by Whitewater Connection's office no later than 45 days prior to the trip for a refund (less a cancellation fee of $25 per person). Cancellations received less than 45 days prior to the trip are not eligible for refunds, however someone else may take your place, with no penalties, upon notification of the office no less than 48 hours before the trip. Deposits from partial group cancellations may not be applied to remaining participants. Trip cancellation insurance is available from the office or your travel agent, this will protect you in the event you must cancel a trip due to medical emergency.
