Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Ranch, Horseback, Hummer After a restful night at Red Cliffs Lodge and Ranch in the heart of famous Castle Valley, the adventure begins. Saddle up on a gentle quarter horse and ride amidst 2,000-foot towering red rock cliffs. Guided by experienced wranglers, you’ll explore the trails made famous by John Wayne himself. Then relax by the pool, read a book on your private patio, or take some time to explore Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. Before dinner and a second night at Red Cliffs, a unique Hummer Safari takes you over exciting red rock terrain to a breathtaking overlook.
Day 2: Fly to the River A scenic flight over the river corridor begins your river excursion. After landing atop a spectacular desert plateau, choose a beautiful hike or take a bus ride to the river’s edge. Launch onto a calm stretch of the Green perfect for swimming or relaxing. Before your first delicious camp dinner, explore, play a game, or just soak in the soothing beauty of Desolation Canyon.
Day 3-6: On The River After each restful night under the stars, awaken to a hearty breakfast. Run over 60 fun-filled rapids, hike to 1,000 year old Indian writings and explore historic homesteads rich in folklore and outlaw history. As tamarisk and willow-fringed beaches give way to lofty red rock walls, you’ll bask in the breathtaking wonder of this majestic canyon. Later in the season as the river flow slows a bit, the trip extends to a sixth day, so you can continue a relaxing pace.
