Each day on the Middle Fork is filled with natural wonders. Beginning in the spectacular Sawtooth Mountains, the upper portion of the waterway is a small, clear stream plunging through narrow chutes and channels. During your five days on the river, it doubles its size into a rushing river with major rapids. You can choose your own level of involvement with the river by riding on a comfortable 18-foot raft or charting your own course in a paddle boat or inflatable kayak.
The entire trip is full of history and wildlife. Where homesteaders and miners carved out their precarious existence, magnificent game animals roam freely. Mountain goats, elk, and big horn sheep range throughout the canyon. The last day on the river, where the Middle Fork meets the Main, guests are transported to Salmon, Idaho.
