Four-Night Oar Trip

For those who have more time to spend on the river, Tour West offers a four-night oar powered trip through Cataract Canyon. Your trip begins in Moab where a van will pick you up and shuttle you to the put-in. You will meet your guides and have an orientation/safety meeting and then begin your trip.

The first part of your trip is a leisurely float through beautiful sandstone walls. There will be plenty of time to swim, hike to Indian ruins and other scenic areas. Each day is a new adventure as you travel down the river.

49 miles down river you come to the confluence of the Green and Colorado Rivers. This is the beginning of Cataract Canyon that contains some of the most exciting whitewater in the West. You’ll run rapids like Little Niagara, and Satan’s Gut as well as 23 other exciting rapids. For more experienced river runners, Tour West takes you along with inflatable kayaks that allow you to experience and explore the river on your own. Your experienced guides will guide you safely through the rapids, as well as provide interpretive understanding of the history, geology and ecology.

Tour West feels that their food is the finest on the river. They provide three well-balanced meals each day, with fresh fruits and vegetables with each meal. Candy bars and fruit are provided for snacks each day. They can also accommodate people with special dietary needs.

The Cataract Canyon trip travels through one of the most beautiful canyons in the West. Throughout the entire trip you will be traveling through Canyonlands National Park. It also contains some of the premier whitewater in the West. This trip is appropriate for both first time riser runners and experienced river runners.
