In 1976, Sunburst Adventures pioneered the first commercial whitewater rafting trips on the Ocoee River. Since then they have become known as the Ocoee River rafting experts. As well as being the oldest outfitter on the river they have also maintained the best safety record. That says a lot! They have set a standard for trips on the Ocoee by being able to have the ability to balance safety with adventure and fun!
The main reason that Sunburst is one of the premier companies on the river is accredited to the guides. These hand picked individuals are dedicated to making sure you enjoy your visit and get the most out of it. They love whitewater rafting and they love sharing all the great things that it has to offer. They are trained in first aid safety, CPR and swift water rescue to ensure that Sunburst’s record remains at the top!
Located in the Cherokee National Forest, you will be surrounded by natural beauty as you paddle through the river gorge. It’s a sight to behold and you are challenged with the continuous whitewater that descends from the dams, creating exciting Class III and IV rapids! This premier whitewater was chosen as the course for the 1996 Olympic Summer Games. Nothing else can offer the degree of challenge and consistent water flow that is found here!
