The Undammed Yampa River in Dinosaur National Monument
The Yampa River is the largest undammed river in the Colorado River System. Lots of great whitewater splashing and dancing over the riverbed. The rivers run through the middle of the monument giving you thousands of acres of wilderness canyons to explore. Wildlife is abundant including the desert bighorn sheep that drink at the river’s edge and curiously watch the rafters float by. This area is highly restricted to provide this wilderness setting. Few people have the privilege to play here, so trips book quickly.
