Of all the rivers in Idaho, none offers more continuous, explosive whitewater than the Lochsa. An Indian word, Lochsa means "Rough Water" and is pronounced "Lock-saw". From its headwaters in the Bitterroot Mountains to its confluence with the Selway and Clearwater rivers, the Lochsa pounds and churns through more than 40 major rapids. The Indians of yesterday took their canoes elsewhere. But today you can grab a paddle and see what they missed. ROW provides the most advanced self-bailing rafts, wetsuits, booties and helmets to make navigation of this raging torrent both fun and as safe as possible. After a day of unrelenting whitewater, you'll paddle to their camp on a magical island surrounded by crystal waters. Fish for trout, take a walk, or sit and enjoy the gargantuan white pines and leafy cedars. Then chow down on hors d' oeuvres and a five-course dinner as the long light of the northern sky slowly darkens over their campfire. In addition to their camping adventures, ROW offers trips where you can stay at a riverside lodge.
