In the spring and summer, the Gauley River runs at water levels that can range from much higher to much lower than the standard fall release. Varying water levels provide the opportunity to experience the Gauley River as few have seen it.
Each morning, Rivermen will evaluate current river flows and choose an appropriate section and craft for your trip. You may be on the Lower Gauley in standard rafts during extremely high water or in smaller rafts on the Upper Gauley at lower flows. You might even find yourself in a duckie for an exciting solo paddling trip on the Middle section.
