Overview
In 1969 Orange Torpedo Trips was the first company to lead guests in inflatable kayaks down the river. Almost 40 years later they are still the premier inflatable kayak family rafting experience. They have expanded their river offerings to include trips in California, Oregon, Idaho and Chile.
What makes Orange Torpedo Trips unique is their style of guiding. With most raft companies you have three options: One, sit in front of an oared raft and let the guide do the work. Two, work on paddle raft as part of a team. Three, be alone in a rigid, less-user-friendly inflatable kayak and follow the oared raft.
With Orange Torpedo Trips you still have the first two options of sitting on a raft or working in a paddle raft, but you also have the option to paddle one of the unique, custom designed inflatable kayaks while you are instructed by a guide who is in an IK for you to follow. Having a 4:1 guest to guide ratio with guides in kayaks guarantees you can follow the guide, and they will quickly be there to pick you out of the water in case you fall out. The guide in the kayak ensures your safety and allows a beginner the chance to learn how to safely navigate the river. The added advantage to Orange Torpedo Trips’ three types of water craft is their ability to allow everyone in your family the opportunity to have just the right amount of excitement for them. One family member can ride an oared raft, two can be in a paddle raft, and that adventuresome teenager can captain their own inflatable kayak. Every person on an Orange Torpedo Trips excursion can choose their level of adventure.
Another unique aspect of Orange Torpedo Trips is their adventures are all inclusive. From the time you show up, until the time you leave at the trip’s conclusion, everything is provided.
