Mother Lode River Trips' Mission
Mother Lode's mission is to share their love of rivers and other wild places with you, and in the process, to further their appreciation and preservation.
The Location
If your desire is outdoor recreation in nature's playground, the beautiful Sierra Nevada, the Mother Lode River Center is the ideal place to establish your base camp. Located on the South Fork of the American River, the camp is just a convenient 50-minute drive east from Sacramento on scenic Highway 49. From this location, it is easy to access the entire watershed of the Mother Lode Country for adventure sports such as rafting, kayaking, hiking, or rock climbing.
The Setting
Mother Lode's large riverside camp is intended to provide ambience and charm that will make a lasting impression. The landscaping of the camp harmonizes with nature. Indigenous river stone pathways and wooden bridges allow convenient access to the camping areas. They vary in size from the small and intimate to larger, more open areas to accommodate the varying sizes and desires of the groups. Everywhere, the lush green of a cool, comforting carpet of grass pleases the eyes and compliments the shade provided by towering heritage oaks. Modern restroom and shower facilities and sophisticated outdoor kitchens provide creature comforts. A relaxing, natural atmosphere is made easier by the fact that this is a private camp not available to the general public.
The Staff
Mother Lode's special purpose attracts staff who is keenly interested in learning new information and skills, are idealistic, and truly dedicated to their work. Guides are personable, fun-loving, and excellent communicators. They are folks who love to share their knowledge and the outdoors with you.
The Programs
Programs reflect the thoughtfulness and quality of Mother Lode's staff. They have a wide variety of carefully conceived programs featuring whitewater rafting, challenge ropes course, and a newly developed experiential learning program. These programs are designed so that a choice of combinations can achieve a wide variety of objectives. Whatever the size or character of your group, Mother Lode's adventure specialists have the expertise to tailor their facilities, programs, and staff to meet your needs.
Safety
At Mother Lode River Trips, safety is the highest priority. They have a strong commitment to safety and their procedures are developed and their guides trained under the supervision of experts with many years of experience in the fields of Swiftwater Rescue, Emergency Medicine, and outdoor adventure. Whatever program you choose, you can expect it to meet their thorough safety standards.

Reservation Policy
You are encouraged to make your reservations as soon as possible as space on some rivers/trips is limited. Reservations can be made by telephone, email, or fax. A $50 per person deposit is due within ten days after making your reservation. Full payment is due 30 days prior to your trip date. Payment can be made by check or credit card.
Cancellation Policy
If you must cancel your trip, all but a $25/person cancellation fee will be refunded provided Mother Lode River Trips has written notice at least 30 days prior to your trip. Email notice is accepted. Cancellations received less than 30 days prior to the trip are not eligible for refunds, however, you may find another qualified person to take your place without penalty.
Trip cancellation insurance is available from Mother Lode's office or your travel agent.
