Magic Falls Rafting Company was founded in 1989 by Dave Neddeau. He has imparted his love of the whitewater rivers and his knowledge of Maine’s wilderness heritage to his rafting guests over the past 20 years. He has created, along with his wife Donna, a whitewater rafting trip that everyone will remember, from the first minute they arrive until they leave. This personal touch is the probably the reason Magic Falls has had so much success.
David and Donna started with one raft, one van, a mobile trailer for an office and not much else except David’s dream. Celebrating its 20th season, Magic Falls now has 40 rafts, including nine, 2008 model custom-design Aire rafts, 25 inflatable kayaks, an outdoor climbing wall, and base facility with base lodge and retail shop, shower house, a 24’ x 38’ recreation pavilion with pool table, juke box, large screen TV, outdoor basketball court, volley ball arena, Frisbee golf and outdoor hot tub.
Accommodations include the Dead River Lodge with king, queen, bunk and ADA compliant rooms and the Rivers Inn, a restored four-bedroom farmhouse that is popular with groups and for family reunions. The Magic Falls Campground has tent sites and platform cabin tents nestled alongside the Dead River.
Safety is Magic Falls Number ONE priority. David personally guides or leads river trips almost every day of the season. Magic’s veteran guides have an average of over thirteen years experience on the rivers.
Having brought their own kids and grand kids up on the river, David and Donna have endeavored to provide the best value trip for the family rafting dollar.
The Neddeaus’ philosophies are unique as you can see. Whitewater rafting is more than just a business to the Neddeaus; even more than the thrill of whitewater. It is a time to shed worries and stress, a time to mile and laugh, a time to be part of a natural high and feel the power of Magic.
Wall Climbing There are many activities at Magic Falls’ base in the West Forks when you are not on the river. They have volleyball, horseshoes, hiking, lots of trails for biking (bring your bike), Frisbee golf, outdoor basketball court, and swimming - just to name a few! One of the most fun and challenging things is their Climbing Tower. It’s 25 feet tall and features overhangs and high angle climbs! This is fun and exciting for all ages!
Rock Climbing Climb on rock faces that are just a few minutes from Magic Falls’ base in West Forks, Maine. This adventure is very challenging and very exciting! They use a top rope with a belay. This safety method makes for a very safe climb with very little chance of injury. If you are ready for a real "natural high" they will teach you to repel off of this 70-foot rock face!
Magic Falls Lodge, Inn and Campground When you come to West Forks for one of magic Falls’ rafting adventures or any one of their outdoor activities, they can provide you with a variety of accommodations. You can choose the Dead River Lodge with bunk rooms for families, queen and king rooms for couples or the ADA compliant room for special needs; The Rivers Inn, a four-bedroom restored farmhouse with full kitchen, living room for groups of up to 16 who wish to cook their own meals; and the Magic Falls Campground where you can tent out under the stars and build a campfire to stay in a platform cabin tent with cots and basic electricity.
