Meet Lewis & Clark Trail Adventures!
Lewis & Clark Trail Adventures was founded by Wayne Fairchild, after graduating from the University of Montana in 1989. He had explored the rivers and trails that Lewis and Clark traveled, and decided to start an outdoor recreation business that allowed him to share his enthusiasm for history and adventure.

It began with hiking and biking trips on the Lolo Trail, but canoe trips on the Upper Missouri, rafting on the Alberton Gorge, Lochsa and Main Salmon Rivers soon followed.

Every year Wayne and Gia, travel along the Lewis and Clark Trail or travel abroad, gaining experience and learning about new people and places as a way to put their experience in context.

We are proud that many of our guests return year after year. In turn our company has grown. We haven’t let that lose touch with our guest or our guides. We strive to be a part of every trip, if not guiding then meeting with guests prior to trips and organizing many aspects of the trips from our office and home in Missoula, MT.

The LCTA staff is a team of dedicated and knowledgeable outdoor enthusiasts. As LCTA has grown, so has our guide cadre. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a dedicated family of guides. Some have been with us for over 10 years. Even though some guides move on to full-time, year around careers, they always find time to return for special trips. They all have years of experience on rivers and trails all over North America and the world.
