Spend one day floating the Middle Youghiogheny and another rafting the Lower Yough in Ohiopyle, PA the best way to see all the Youghiogheny Gorge. On the day of the Middle Yough trip, meet at the outdoor center in Ohiopyle, PA. There, Laurel Highlands will outfit your party with the necessary gear and have you park at the take-out point, then transport your group to the launch area at Ramcat. On this section, they provide you with the necessary equipment and safety briefing. You will then guide yourself down the Middle Youghiogheny's scenic Class I and II rapids. You can bring snacks or a lunch in a small watertight container. Travel at your own pace before arriving at the take out point just above Ohiopyle where you will gather your gear and load it on LHRT's trucks near your car. They will ask you to follow guidelines on their rental program regarding security deposits and adult supervision. The tour on the Lower Youghiogheny starts at the check-in facility opposite the park office. There, they will outfit you in your life jacket and foul weather gear, if you desire. You will spend this day on a guide-escorted tour of the Lower Youghiogheny River. You will actively participate in steering the raft through the rapids. On this day, they take care of all the equipment as well as lunch.
