The Rivers
Winding Waters River Expeditions provides your family, friends or special group access to adventure on: The Snake River in Hells Canyon, Salmon River of Idaho, and Grande Ronde River in Oregon. The Snake River through Hells Canyon, the deepest canyon in North America, is home to some of the biggest whitewater in the Northwest, along with world-class fishing, rich natural and cultural history, and stunning scenery. The Winding Waters River Expeditions Salmon River adventure runs through four spectacular canyons, punctuated by gorgeous white sandy beaches and warm, crystal clear waters. The Salmon alternates fun whitewater with plenty of time to swim and relax between rapids. The Salmon is the ideal river to take advantage of the Winding Waters River Expeditions unique Learn To Row Adventure program, which enables you to become a certifiable “river rat”. The clean, clear waters of the Grande Ronde River flow through beautiful Ponderosa Pine forests and basalt cliffs in Northeastern Oregon. Spring trout fishing, summer smallmouth bass fishing, and fall and winter steelheading are hard to beat on this secluded river.

The Adventure
Winding Waters River Expeditions specializes in unique adventure. As members of the Association for Experiential Education, they believe in learning by doing and enjoy introducing guests to an experience beyond the traditional guide-client divide. Two of the most striking experiences people have on a Winding Waters River Expeditions trip are a deep sense of relaxation, along with accomplishment. This happens in many ways, by rowing a boat or paddling an inflatable kayak for the first time, watching your child reel in their first fish, or the simple joy of sitting in your camp chair, knee deep in the river (marinating) with no worries other than wondering what that delicious smell is coming from the kitchen.

The Camp
Winding Waters River Expeditions likes a deluxe camp as much as you do, bringing all the comforts of home (and then some) along on the river. Their riverside camps come complete with a five-star kitchen staffed by talented and entertaining guide-chefs, comfortable tents with thick sleeping pads, chairs, private toilet facilities and a new and spectacular view each day. You and your kids will love the game room! Their guides have all spent a large part of their lives on the river and have developed an impressive collection of unique riverside games, along with the river classics. They have been told by a 10 year old boy that the trip was more fun than playing video games all day long and the food was better than a pizza party with soda.

The Boats
Winding Waters River Expeditions offers a number of options for your float down the river. In Hells Canyon you can choose to ride with a guide in an 18-foot Hyside self-bailing raft, or hone your skills in an inflatable kayak (a ducky). On the Salmon and Grande Ronde Rivers, you have two additional options: join the paddle raft team or learn to row in one of their 12-foot Aire rafts.
