The family started running trips in 1976 when their dad took them on a commercial trip with Hells Canyon Navigation. The summer of ’77 found them with their own gear, taking the first of countless trips through Hells Canyon.
Today they are still running trips and showing people how a river trip can change their lives. Kurt and Heidi Armocost have carried on the tradition of a superior river trip and company. The Snake River in Hells Canyon is their main trip. They run one trip at a time and oversee every aspect of your trip to make sure that you are totally satisfied. With over 20 years in the business and well over 1000 trips on the Snake River, they are the Hells Canyon Specialists and truly a superior river company. They hire experienced, professional guides that have a 3:1 average guest to guide ratio. Each is expert in cooking, storytelling, fishing and the wondrous canyon history. They understand it is your trip, and are happy to cater to your interests.
