About Expediciones Chile
Chris Spelius is the founder of Expediciones Chile and your host. He was an original whitewater pioneer on the Futaleufu River and a 1984 US Olympic team kayaker. He was so was awed by its beauty, challenge and playfulness he decided that he would live here in Patagonia, Chile. Thus Expediciones Chile was born. They were the first to run river and adventure trips here in 1986 and have been running safe whitewater rafting, kayaking and multisport trips ever since. Chris is now a resident of Chile, is married and with a young daughter. This company and the concept of blending the best of diverse cultures working and playing together in this unspoiled corner of the world has been his dream.

EC runs lodge based and eco-camp based whitewater rafting trips on the world class Futaleufu River, giving you the ultimate flexibility in planning your vacation. Their streamlined traveling logistics will afford you six full days of whitewater rafting and multisport activities in Patagonia, Chile. They will get you directly to the Futaleufu minimizing stop-overs and travel time. For those traveling on in this region of the world, they also offer trip extensions to Easter Island, Torres del Paine, Machu Picchu, Pumalin and Los Alerces National Parks, and Chiloe Island.

Expediciones Chile offers unsurpassed multi-sport options designed to cater to each member of your group: whitewater kayaking, sea kayaking, kayak school, horseback riding, mountain biking, trekking-hiking, canyoning, fly fishing, and eco-tours of the Patagonia wilderness. You can custom tailor your week by selecting from any of these options. All rafting trips have a large multisport component in addition to whitewater rafting on the Futaleufu. Most of the multisport activities are also offered as standalone week-long adventure trips by themselves.

Expediciones Chile Dream Team - Guides & Safety
All guides are all internationally certified in Swift-Water Rescue (Rescue 3 International) and Advanced Wilderness First Aid (Wilderness Medical Associates). Expediciones Chile has one of the most experienced guide teams in the valley. All rafting trips are accompanied by safety catarafts and kayaks. Rafts were designed by Maravia Rafts specifically for the Futaleufu and to EC's exact specifications. Your safety is in the best of hands!
