The Salmon River may be best known for its fishing opportunities in the spring and fall, but dam releases each summer turn the Salmon into a whitewater paradise. Dam releases assure real whitewater excitement that's ideal for the young and the young-at-heart. Conveniently located near Pulaski, NY, the Salmon's fun-filled rapids offer the perfect summer getaway for families and groups. Meet at the Stoney Pineville Campground near Pulaski, NY, for a delightful day of fun and whitewater adventure.
Several times each summer, the normally placid Salmon River springs to life, as water is released from the Salmon River Reservoir, and rushes to its destination in Lake Ontario. At first, you'll enjoy a leisurely stretch of water where you and your rafting mates can practice your paddling strokes and teamwork. Soon, though, the pace quickens. What follows are miles of Class II-III whitewater - ideal for first time rafters, yet fun even for more seasoned paddlers.
Bring a light lunch or snack for a mid-day stop. There are also ample opportunities for splashing, sun-bathing and picture taking along the way.
For this trip, you can choose either family style rafts or more adventurous funyaks. Each trip is led by experienced guides.
Dam releases on the Salmon are scheduled on three weekends each summer. Space is limited so be certain to reserve your date well in advance.
For family style rafts, participants should be at least 8 years of age. For more adventurous funyaks, a minimum of 12 is recommended.

Customers are encouraged to make reservation at least two weeks in advance although we can add to a trip until the morning of, providing there is availability.
Cancellation Policy
Receive a full refund if you cancel at least 15 days in advance; 50% refund if you cancel 7 to 14 days in advance; no refund for cancellations less than 7 days ahead, for no shows or for late arrivals.
