The Moose is a river of many moods and splendid surprises. Rafting trips here range from easy to extremely challenging. The Moose River flows westward from the popular Old Forge region. The Middle Moose River is suitable for families and youngsters, from May through October. The Lower Moose is an extremely challenging section of whitewater, suitable for experienced-only adventurers who are eager to test the limits of their skill and endurance.
At the Moose River Rafting Center, you'll also want to take advantage of other outdoor programs like canoeing and kayak touring. Don't forget to ask about the "Adirondack Adventure Camp" multi-day camping trips perfect for scout and youth groups. These adventures depart regularly from ACWC's Old Forge Outfitters store. It's a wonderful place to find everything from boats and gear to simple souvenirs. The outfitter is located on Route 28, just four miles south of Old Forge, NY. Theirs is the only full-time rafting center serving the Moose River.
This is an extraordinary EXPERIENCED-ONLY trip. The Lower Moose demands of every participant the very highest levels of skill, strength, stamina, river savvy and teamwork. This is big, powerful, awe-inspiring whitewater, and needs to be taken seriously. Don't consider this trip unless you are a veteran of several Class IV or V river trips, and you are well prepared for the possibility of an unforeseen swim in very rough water, cold conditions, or both.

Receive a full refund if you cancel at least 15 days in advance; 50% refund if you cancel 7 to 14 days in advance; no refund for cancellations less than 7 days ahead, for no shows or for late arrivals.
