In Westwater Canyon the Colorado River is funneled into a narrow corridor of black polished shirt overlain with red sandstone cliffs. Not only is the canyon spectacular, but also the rapids are a blast. Funnel Falls, Skull, Sock It To Me, and several more rapids come one after the other in an intense and rollicking expedition that brings out the bronc rider in all of us.
Above and below Westwater the river meanders serenely through red rocks. Eagles sail over canyon walls and the thickets along the stream banks are as beautiful and relaxing as the rapids are exciting.
