This "fly-in fly-out" expedition takes you on the best rafting/kayaking sections of the Magpie River. World-class rapids, fishing and wildlife combined with impeccable scenery make the Magpie River one of Quebec's most popular adventure expedition destinations. Flowing 200km (125 miles) from the Labrador plateau, the Magpie carves its way through granite canyons with the Taïga forest overhead then finally spilling into the gulf of St-Lawrence.
Flying on to Magpie lake in a de Havilland Otter or Beaver is an experience in itself, thus starting this 55km (35 mile) adventure. Class III, IV and V rafting and kayaking sections are around every turn. Trout fishing and hiking between rapids allows the scenery to sink in. Nutritious meals catering to any diet will give you the energy to tackle the rapids. In addition, eco-friendly wilderness camping make this multi-day trip both challenging and pleasurable for even the most refined adventurer.
Your safety and the environment is of primary concern during any ABV Kayak & Excursions adventure. Only experienced professional rafting guides with up-to-date wilderness first aid and river rescue certifications are hired. In addition, eco-friendly “leave-no-trace” camping policies keep the environment in its pristine state for others to enjoy.
Kayakers Welcome! Paddle light and enjoy the freedom of having someone else carry your gear. Expeditions include raft support for any kayaker who wishes to join one of ABV's fantastic multi-day adventures.
